Worship

Worship is a vital part of who we are and what we do here at MSBC.

Worship, simply defined, is our response to an act of God;

thanking Him for what he has done in the past,

praising Him for what he is presently doing, and

anticipating what He will do in the future.

Scripture tells us that He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Hebrews 13:8). He is the constant in the midst of what often times is a confused and chaotic world. Our thankfulness, praise, and anticipation are firmly based on the foundation of God's Word.

Music is a vital part of our worship here at MSBC. We have various groups who participate and lead our worship music.  But the most important musical group at MSBC is the congregation. The first part of each service is planned so that the gathering of members and guests can actively express their appreciation and devotion to the Lord.

Our worship style would be defined as contemporary. We utilize a praise band and singers to lead in the worship music. Drama, video, scripture reading, and prayer are also a part of the worship services.

As important as music and the other creative arts are, nothing is as important as God's Word. Every activity in the worship service is done in anticipation of the time when our Pastor leads us in the day's reading and studying of God's Word.

"Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."   Colossians 3:16-17
